We put together the concept and site in a little under 8 hours, and as of yesterday we’ve amassed over 50,000 unique visitors and 190,000 page views in the two weeks since the site launched. I keep finding that the more simple and directed my ideas for new sites are, the better they do. I attempted to create the site with as little effort as possible — no public image uploading, flash image caption apps or accounts. Just a blog and an email address for submissions, and it’s done much better than we could have expected. I know this is niche and meme-like, it won’t last more than a few months tops.

What simple ideas have you turned into a site, or wish you had?
